The Purpose of This Camera

We will use an intraoral camera to make sure we examine every surface of your mouth. From the outside, we may not be able to see everything. Once we put a camera inside your mouth, we can pan the angle to look at every surface.

If you have ever seen a dentist use a mirror to check the inside of your mouth, a camera provides even greater flexibility. Using this camera, we will ensure we do not miss anything. We can even put a light on the camera to make it easier for us to see inside. The camera can even take videos of the inside of your mouth. Then, we can share the videos with you, making it easier for you to understand what we are looking at. 

How an Intraoral Camera Works

There are a variety of ways that we can use an intraoral camera to improve your oral health. A few examples include:

  • Using an intraoral camera, we can give you a live-action view of everything happening during the examination. 
  • We can use this camera to take measurements of the inside of your mouth, which can dictate the course of your treatment plan.
  • This camera can be used to track your progress. We can use it to watch your teeth move into the right locations.
  • The intraoral camera can even be used to look at your gums and roots, which can play an important role in the treatment process.
